A fairly short, but sweet report this time, but it’s still packed full of festivity, big cross country efforts, and parkrun PBs.
Pop the festive chocolate down for a while (So there’s still some left for next week), and have a read through what FRAC has been up to this week…

Describing it as a great day with perfect weather, Coach Catherine O’ Connor (V55) flew round in first place for her age category, while Krzysztof Klidzia (V60) also won his age category, adding more cross country success to both of their respective resumés.

Sunday 14th December – Herne Bay, Santa’s on the Run!
This could be the first time since I started race reporting that I actually get to mention myself.
On Sunday I (Dan McCarthy) travelled over to Herne Bay with my aunt who works alongside the Pilgrim’s Hospice who put on this event each year.
After helping out with the registration desk for a while I took part in a 15 minute dance/warm up along with over 1000 other Santa’s, and then it was time to start the run, which was split between 3k, 5k and 10k.
It’s an out and back looped course, which has 3 different turnaround points depending on the distance you choose to run, due to a bit of route congestion I tried to go round a large group of people and ended up missing the correct turnaround point which led me up a long steep hill before finding my way back on track.
After a strong pushing finish and many opportunities to stick my thumbs up I came home in 23:15, but there aren’t any official times released as it’s a charity fun run.
I then helped hand out medals and take photos of/for people after they’d finished running, meaning I’d pretty much done a bit of everything to help the event from start to finish, including taking part in it too.

Looking forward to seeing photos from and taking part in more festive runs in the near future, but for now, Guylian in hand, it’s time to pick the festive chocolate back up.
Thankyou for reading and good luck to everyone running the handicap tomorrow!
