We don’t stop for rain!

On Saturday Sylwia Tokarska ran 53 km through Tricity Landscape Park.  According to Sylwia “This course never gets any easier!”  With 1200 m of climbing, constant rolling hills and technical forest trails, however on Saturday everything came together.  Sylwia crossed the line in 6:21:40, taking a huge 48min 20s course PB, finishing 165th out of 392 overall, 28th of 86 women, and 6th out of 27 in her age category. After such an amazing run Sylwia says “the climbs humbled me, and the finish line felt incredible. Proud of the grind, grateful for the journey, and already hungry for the next challenge”

Also on Saturday Folkestone Running and Athletics Club had the 3rd fixture for the Kent cross country league at Swanley park on Saturday. This was for juniors and ladies only.

Guy Slingsby and Oscar roach ran in the under 17 /under 20 men’s race.

Catherine O’Conner, Carrie Thomas and Zoe Neale ran in the ladies race, scoring as a team of 3.

On Sunday four club members took part in this years Maidstone Turkey Run, which is an annual event across 7.4 miles of a mixture of road and trails. 

First up was Phil and Jenny Heathfield for the canicross race. Jenny ran with their youngest dog, Marley and completed the course in a time of 01:03:45 coming in as 3rd female and 13th overall. Phil and Banjo crossed the line in 01:15:10 coming in 30th place. 

Next up to take on the 7.4 mile muddy race was James Barney and Sarah Nunn. James crossed the line in an impressive 55:28 and was 31st out of a field of 414 runners. Sarah took on her first ever trail race and came in at 01:05:41 and was 6th out of 66 in her age category. 

In Folkestone, a large group of FRAC runners took part in the Mental Elf 5k Fun Run in the wind and rain on the Leas.  Thomas Aspinall was the first runner back for the club and 3rd overall with Nicole Dodd finishing in 4th place and the first female back.

Deborah Jeffery was the 3rd female back in a time of 20:03.  Andrew Noble also ran the course in a time of 19:32.

Prakash Gurung was the first runner back in a time of 17:27 with Simon Ramsay coming in 3rd place in a time of 17:59.  Vicky Scott was the 2nd female back in a time of 22:02 with Carolina Curtis the 3rd place female in a time of 24:32.
