Race Reports 21–29 September

Autumn means marathon season is winding down, ultra and cross country seasons are revving up, and the weather – well, the weather is what it is! And no matter the challenge, FRAC is up for it! Let’s find out what you’ve been up to!

Folkestone Rotary Half Marathon – 29 September

FRAC showed up in force for our local half. The course was a little different this year. After a landslide caused the closure of Remembrance Hill, organisers were pressed to find another vertical challenge that would return runners to the Start/Finish on the Leas. We were treated to a rare romp through the Riviera and a familiar one up Radnor Cliff hill, continuing to Sandgate Hill, then Dixwell to the Leas before a finish in front of the Grand.

Our athletes put their best feet forward as they charged into some fantastic wins and massive PBs. Here are a few…

Around 1h 35m, knocking off around 12 minutes from last year’s! – Tom Aspinall
First Folkestone 1/2 marathon for me – PB with 1:48. – Phil Haines

A bit to list for this one 😅
1:43 for the Folkestone half, which was a 34minute pb

Folkestone Half 1.27.17; 1st VM60, 16th overall, 2 minutes quicker than last year and my quickest Folkestone half to date, beating 1.28.25 in 2017! – Torben Jessen

Berlin Marathon and 5k

The fourth marathon major of the year rocked Berlin, as it always does. A fast course known for world record performances, FRAC runners turned on the speed for their own efforts, too. Kudos to Dan Radcliffe and Tom Bean who clocked some blazing fast times!
