Hard work paying off!

Although it is a quiet period for races, that doesn’t mean that Folkestone Running and Athletics members have not been busy.  Many members can be seen out doing longer and longer runs at all hours of the day in training for their marathons, which will be coming oh too soon.  This hard work can be seen in some of the results that have been seen over the past couple of weeks.   In last weekend’s parkruns Tomas Aspinall achieved a PB of 20:25, as did Ian Merrick in 18:08.  Even more impressive was Torben Jessen’s parkrun of 18:57, which was the fastest vet male 60 to 64 time in all of the parkrun’s across the country last week.

In addition to this Gary Brazier ran the Serpentine End of the Month 5k and achieved a PB of 24:54, and not content with waiting for the marathon season to start, Tara Baker ran the Unicorn run marathon in a time of 4:21:49.

This Saturday, Rachel Smith and her dog, Jensen, ran the Bedgebury Spring CaniX 10k in a time of 57:47, with Philip Heathfield and his dog, Banjo completing the 5k course in 24:28.
