On Sunday, a handful of jaded Folkestone Running and Athletic Club members turned up to run the Kent Christmas Cracker 5 mile race around the fresh and windy Betteshanger Park cycling track. After celebrating the clubs achievements at the annual Club Christmas party and awards the night before, 12 hardy runners shook off their hangovers and ran the two and a half lap course. After starting towards the back of the pack, Ian Vousden worked his way through the field and was the first runner back for the club in a time of 37:57. Next back was Jennifer Quinn (41:27) followed by Linnaea Stockall (41:37), Phil Maul (42:06), Diane Parsons (42:25), Anthony Scott (42:45) and Philip Bridges (42:27) who all ran together, keeping each other going. Behind them were Rebekah Newton (47:25), Jason King (49:40), Rachel Smith (49:41) and, Lisa Smith (59:09) and Kate Lancefield (59:10) who successfully ran the whole course even with Kate recovering from a leg injury.
