There was quite a number of events taking place this weekend. Saturday saw the last of the Cross country races in Bromley. Tina Eke’s reports:
The Kent Cross Country League season ended in style on Saturday with the Folkestone mens team putting in their best performance of the series. Henry Axon ran his best race of the season finishing in 19th place closely followed by Stephen Male in yet another great performance in 23rd place and first Vet 50. Stephen has been unbeaten in his age category in the three races that he completed in the league. Andy Wright was the next to finish in 47th place completing a fantastic first season in the competition. Krzysztof Klidzia finished strongly in 65th and was followed by Nick Steele in 85th Paul Bartlett in 115th, Phil Maul in 184th and Alan Randall in 191st.
The mens team finished in a brilliant 6th place out of 17 teams on the day and in 8th place out of 22 teams for the season.
In the womens race, Folkestone was lead home by another strong run from Karla Larnder in 45th place. Karla was followed by Catherine O’Connor in 59th place in her first race of the season. Close behind was team mate Caroline Curtis in 62nd place followed by Jane Wren in 77th place.
The womens team of three finished in 10th place out of 15 teams on the day and 10th place out of 19 for the season. The womens team of six finished in 8th place out of 11 teams for the season.
The final individual league positions are based firstly on the number of races completed and then the finishing positions in those races.

Sunday saw two local races well represented with FRC runners. The Headcorn Half had near perfect conditions and saw Josh Pine achieve a PB finishing in 8th place overall. Jody Stoakes also achieved a PB by 3 minutes finishing 70th overall Full results were as follows:
