This weekend saw the ladies of FRC out in force. Firstly with the Folkestone Parkrun cancelled for the airshow, Kirsty Wilson’s Hen run moved to Deal and Warmer. She was well supported on the start of her Hen weekend by many of her fellow club runners.
Further afield on Sunday Pam Allon took part in the Clacton on Sea Half Marathon. and 10k. There were over 800 runners between both races and Pam finished 19th lady out of 125 and 4th female Vet 50 in a time of 1:53:45. Afterwards she said of the course ” there were a fair few inclines- you had to run down to the lower prom and then back up to the top twice – not the dead flat course I was expecting.” A fantastic result especially as this was part of her marathon training. Well done Pam !!!
On Thursday in Samorin in Slovakia Chris Childs competed in the World Triathlon Aquathlon Championships. She came 14th in her age group 60-64 in a time of 1:03:46. She finished the swim section in 30:31 while her run was in a time of 28:46. An excellent result!!
