Trophies galore at Deal

It was near perfect conditions on Sunday morning for the Deal Castle 5 mile race, and there were a great deal of PBs, and a pretty decent haul of prizes as we picked up 2nd Overall, 1st Male Vet, 1st Female U21, 1st Female V45 and first ladies team.

First back for the club and a fantastic 2nd place overall was Henry Axon. Making his 5 mile debut, Henry faced some stiff competition with the third place runner however he came out on top to cross the line in 28:41.

Two more FRC runners rounded out the top 10 with Krzysztof Klidzia finishing in 9th place in 29:54 and Rob Collier in 10th in 30:06, a massive 4 and a half minutes quicker than his time at this same race 2 years ago. Rob also picked up the prize for 1st Vet Male.

Next back was Daren Wild with a 45 second PB who finished in 33:02 and 26th place. Just behind in 27th place was Nikki Goodwin, the first of the winning ladies team in a time of 33:21.

Next up was Oli Collier taking part in his first ever ‘proper’ race who ran 34:37 and more importantly, was just ahead of mum Ivana who finished in 34:42 and picked up the prize for first Female V45. Emily Chambers was next to finish in 34:54, completing the winning ladies team along with Nikki and Ivana and also picking up the prize for 1st Female U21.
