Folkestone runners are not afraid of the weather. That was evident from the number who braved the elements to race this weekend. At the Canterbury Riverside 10K new member Karla Larnder was first home and 3rd lady in a time of 49:53. She was followed by Ron Bell in 52:29 with Collette Windsor finishing in 1:00:45.
At the Ashford and District Halloween Run Kirsty Wilson was a brilliant 10th place overall and 2nd lady in the 5 mile race with Maria Chapman coming in 11th lady and 6th in her age category in 44:53 and Catherine Ann Curtis finishing in 54:33.
Meanwhile at Bedgebury Forest Half marathon and 10K Henry Axon, Stuart Sprinks and Amy Owen took part in a very muddy, hilly and wet trail race. Henry won the race in a stunning time of 1:28:31 in horrendous conditions: his first ever overall competitive victory while Stuart was first male V40 and 6th overall in 1:38:45. Amy finished in a time of 2:37:25. Well done everyone!!
Further afield, Beth Jago competed in the Luton Half marathon finishing in a time of 2:29:19.
