Lydd 20 and Half

This weekend it was the turn of another popular local race, the Lydd 20 and Half, to take place having been moved from its usual slot earlier in the year. This meant swapping the more usual chilly conditions for somewhat warmer ones, although the wind stuck around, making it tough going for the runners.

First back in the half was club newcomer Krzysztof Klidzia finishing in 1:26:39, 13th overall and 1st in the V55 category. Next back was Torben Jessen in 1:31:32 in 20th position. Liam Cumber crossed the line in 2:01:54 just ahead of John O’Hara in 2:06:32 and Richard Fairhall in 2:12:35. Kayleigh Cumber was our sole female representative in the race finishing in 3:06:57.

In the 20 mile race Dave Gillett was the club’s fastest finisher in 18th place overall in a time of 2:18:01. Behind him it was a close finish between Greg Dixon and Rob Hill as they finished in 3:00:13 and 3:00:25 respectively. Following them were Hazel Green in 3:05:41, Jason O’Callaghan in 3:21:44, Collette Windsor and Ron Bell who ran together in 3:27:25 and 3:27:26, Sara Marsh in 4:03:53 and Kate Lancefield in 4:17:45.

Lots of people again took part in parkruns this weekend and there was quite a bit of tourism. Well done to junior Abigail Smith who set a new PB this week.
