There were a handful of Folkestone Running Club members out and about in the late October weather.
Triumphant, super fast Tom Millard, who only recently bagged an amazing PB of 02:30:01 three weeks ago at the Lake Dorney Marathon, headed off up to Woodley 10k race in Berkshire. We understand that that it has its own set of challenges with having to shout to the runner in front of you if you needed to overtake, but Tom still smashed it and came in third with a superb time of 00:33:01.
More locally, Simon Coffey took part in the Canterbury Riverside 10k. This scenic, traffic free course twists alongside the River Stour, starting from Chartham running through the centre of Canterbury. Simon came in with a time of 00:47:46.
Over in Sussex, two of our club ladies Diane Pearson and Kate Clipstone battled the extremely tough terrain and elements of the famous Beachy Head Marathon. After months of training the two ladies completed in 05:46:32, Diane, and 06:33:11, Kate. Both ladies combated the course even with blisters bursting and leg niggles! Well done to both of them.
