Folkestone Running Club at Deal Dinosaur 10k

It was a successful day for FRC at the Deal Dinosaur 10k. On a hot day and a challenging route, Dan Voller was on top form coming home 2nd overall and setting a new PB of 35:12. Emma Creasey also had a great run, finishing 1st lady in a time of 40:27, more than 3 minutes ahead of 2nd place. Next back was Tony Scott, finishing in a time 52:17 in 122nd place. Richard Dyer wasn’t far behind in 128th place and a time of 53:20 and was 2nd V70. 

On Saturday, Morgan West was back in action in the latest round of the British Triathlon Super Series at the Hetton Lyons Super Saturday. Morgan put in another strong performance to qualify for the final where he finished 20th overall and 8th junior. 

Torben Jesson took to the streets of Norwich for the Run Norwich 10k. Torben’s impressive form continued as he finished in a time of 38:46 as 1st v55 and 89th overall in a large field of over 6000 runners. 

There was just the one tie played out in the Parkrun cup as Liam Cumber was knocked out by previous winner Clive Allon. 

In the Folkestone parkrun, Ian McGilloway somersaulted his way round to finish first in time of 17:44 ahead of Dave Gillett (18:04), Jamie Whitham (19:18), Liam Cumber (20:16), Debbie Jeffery (21:06), Richard Fowles (23:39), Clive Allon (23:53), Tony Scott (24:04), Chris Addison (24:23), Dave Walbrook (24:51), John O’Hara (24:54), Catriona Watts (24:59), David Rodacan (25:13), Richard Dyer (27:11), Linda Robson (36:12), Nicola James (39:28), Julie Gibbs (43:36) and David Denyer (46:21). 

There was quite a bit of parkrun tourism this week. In Deal, Vicky Scott ran 23:06 to finish 4th lady. In Maidstone, Caroline Curtis ran 31:02 while in Merthyr, Phil Maull ran 28:01. Up in Carlisle Andy and Lisa Smith ran 23:34 and 29:19 respectively while Darren Crew and Jody Stokes travelled up to Stafford to take part in the Isabel trail parkrun, running 20:36 and 24:45.
