Final Inter Club Relay Successes

Folkestone Running club saw some awards received following the final evening of the inter club relay event. After numerous weeks of competing against fellow local clubs, Folkestone came out with trophies.

In the men’s event, the vet 40s came joint second place with Thanet Road Runners and the vet 50s team came joint first place against 7 other clubs.

Whilst in the women’s event, the senior team came in second place, competing against nine other clubs! Meanwhile the v45 ladies came in a respectable third place overall. Emma Creasy was yet again to be the fastest overall lady on the night!

On Sunday, Nick Steele and Ian McGilloway ran the Seven Oaks 7 mile race, a multi-terrain course consisting of two laps on undulating tracks and grassy paths. The race was part of the Kent Grand Prix series. Ian finished 9th overall in 42:17 and Nick, in his first race back from injury, finished in 46:31.
