Canterbury 10 Mile 2026
A few of the FRAC crew after taking on the Canterbury 10 miler
Canterbury saw a storm of red, white and blue over the weekend as 50 Folkestone runners took to the hilly streets surrounding this historic area.
This long standing race is known for its undulating terrain with a well-managed, traffic-free course has been a club favourite for many years.
With a new route set to challenge our runners, they set off in earnest from the University of Kent Sports Centre HQ.
Key accomplishments from the day include some notable performances up front and multiple new PBs across the board.
Nick Steele finished first for the club in a stunning time of 1:00:56, 32nd out of 1524 participants on the day. Close behind was Simon Ramsay and Henry Axon, all within a minute of each other!
Krzysztof Klidzia was first in his MV60 category while Nikki Goodwin crossed the line as our first female, 8th overall.
Carrie Thomas was over the moon with her brand-new time of 1:14:45. On the day she said: “Good conditions, a nice first half, and utterly bonkers hills in the second!”
Louisa Eade brought home a 4-minute personal best effort with 1:15:50 as well as Nicole Dodd and Julie Apps in 1:18:09 and 1:31:25 respectively.
Tony Scott “thinks” he enjoyed the new course but can definitely say he likes his course PB of 1:25:33. Despite the hills David Tetlow managed his own best effort with 1:22:36.
Lara Parsons took on her first ever 10 mile distance so was very happy with her time of 1:31:52.

Arc of Attrition 2026
Adam Ward before all the fun that the Arc of Attrition had in store for him
Trail runs require determination and dedication. The terrain, time on legs and fuelling demand crucial amounts of preparation – something only the hardiest of our runners take on.
That’s why Sylwia Tokarska, Michal Vavrinec and Adam Ward stepped up to participate in this weekend’s challenging coastal distances along the South West Coast Path.
Spread across three different distances (25, 50 and 100 miles), the efforts required to see runners across the line will take everything – and that’s exactly what our members gave!
Extraordinary efforts from the three of them with Michal and Adam taking on the 25 mile distance and Sylwia doing 50.
Here’s a report from the day from our man Adam:
“The rainy Cornish weather subsided for a glorious 25 mile slog through the muddy Cornish coastline.
“Views were incredible, but that didn’t offset just how hard this race was. The climbs and descents were steep and slippery, with little chance or room for rest.
“Hardest race I have ever done.
“Glad I got through it, as I was met at the end by fellow club member Amie Howard, a medal, and a finishers’ t-shirt.
“It was worth it, although Amie did get the car stuck in the mud on the way home, and I had to get out and push after running a marathon!”
Finish time: 6:02:21.
Storming through! The South West Coast Path in all its glory Adam’s views down in Cornwall were spectacular
On her 50 mile effort, Sywlia had this to share:
“The 2026 Arc of Attrition 50 was run in extreme conditions as Storm Ingrid brought 50mph winds, heavy rain, flooded trails, deep mud, and very challenging underfoot conditions, particularly on the technical section between Pendeen and St Ives.
“Difficulty of the race was reflected in a 27.6% DNF rate.
“This was my first 50-mile race. After a tough mental patch around halfway, the focus shifted to managing time and steadily chasing the cut-offs, which were extremely tight throughout the race.
“I finished in 15:42:30, placing 416/435 overall and 69/74 women. A proper Arc experience: brutal, humbling and one I’m very proud to complete.
“Thanks to Adam Ward, Phil Maull and his wife Vicky for their on-course support, the Arc Angels for their help at the checkpoints, and everyone who followed progress and sent supportive messages.”
Sywlia grinning and giving it her all during the AOATriumph!
