Cross Country Foots Cray Meadows, Sidcup
This Saturday 12 October saw the start of the Kent Cross Country competitions and many of our members swapped their usual road running for a muddy cross country, some taking to the fields for the first time since 1978, well done Adam! The event took the members to Foots Cray Meadows, Sidcup for a rather rainy race. But the weather did not deter Folkestone Running and Athletics Clubs members who came out with some great results, and them looking forward to the next race.

Ashford Givaudan 10K
Sunday brought the perfect mix of sunshine and mild temperatures for our members who took part in the Ashford Givaudan 10K. This perfect mix of weather, determination and team spirit saw many of them bringing home many personal best times. While our coach Catherine O’Connor came first in her age category Vet 50 in a time 44.27, the ladies also took home the team prize thanks to the amazing efforts of Catherine O’Connor, Rebecca Powney and Carrie Thomas. Well done all.

Royal Parks Half
Further afield Sophie O’Callaghan travelled to London for the beautiful Royal Parks Half marathon. Sophie ran in an amazing time of 2:17:37 achieving a PB with a smile, Well done Sophie!
North Chilterns 50k Race
Sunday also saw two FRAC members, Phil and Linnaea, take on the North Chilterns 50K Race, here Phil Gives us an insight into the Race
Yes, you can have fun in Luton! Linnaea and I really enjoyed the North Chilterns 50k race. Based at Berkamsted Castle and taking in Ivinghoe Beacon, Coombe Hill and White cliff Hill we really enjoyed the views. We were also so lucky with the chilly, but dry and bright weather! Definitely a race to be recommended! Linnaea Stockall finished as 4th lady in 5:29:56 and I managed 5:46:09 so very happy with that!
