Competition is beginning to heat up along with the weather, if a bit faster! FRAC runners threw themselves into the mix with gusto as Spring endurance contests point toward the inevitable arrival of Marathon season!
Barcelona Marathon – 10 March 2024
Nikki Goodwin sends her report of the season’s first marathon complete at the Zurich Marató Barcelona Marathon. Nikki came roaring in at a time of 3.32.47. Way to go, Nikki!

Brett Lydd 20 Mile and Half Marathon – 10 March 2024
The main event of the weekend was indisputably the Lydd 20 and Lydd Half Marathon. A stonking 24 FRAC runners turned out to blaze the trails. There were some incredible standout performances reported.
Simon Ramsey earned 2nd Place overall in the half marathon with, as he puts it, a long awaited PB! Simon says: “From the halfway turnaround, running alongside Folkestone’s Nassour Harlin, we ran down an out-of-sight leader, finally closing in just as the finish line approached, but the line came too soon!” Smashing effort!
Deborah Parmenter claimed her first 20-miler – her longest run yet!
Louisa Eade also ate up her first 20-miler. Louisa’s report: “Shattered now though 😂”
Torben Jessen flew into 10th overall, racking up 1st Male Vet 60!
Lisa Smith ALSO finished her first 20-miler: “furthest distance I’ve ever run so hard – physically and mentally but I managed to run the whole way!” Proud of you, Lisa!
Greg Dixon made his 2nd fastest 20-miler in 2.38.55!
