Autumn marathon season is nearly upon us meaning those in training are taking on some longer distance races in preparation for the main event.
The Thanet Ricki Savage 20 took place on Sunday up and down the Thanet coastline. Dan Radcliffe put in a fantastic effort to finish 3rd in a time of 2:08:25. Jane Wren was 6th lady and 3rd in her age category in a time of 3:07:40.
Bigger in name if not in distance, the Big Half also took place on Sunday morning round the streets of central London. First back with a superb performance and a big PB was Dave Tyler who finished just outside the top 100 in 104th place in a time of 1:14:19. Henry Axon was next to finish in 1:22:12 followed by Patrick Hughes in 1:27:29. Nick Bryant wasn’t far behind in 1:32:39 while James Springett finished in 1:39:30. Amy Owen was our sole female representative finishing in 2:15:20.
Meanwhile Karla Larnder was taking part in the Badlesmere 10k, a hilly trail race where she dodged the cow pats and finished a brilliant 1st lady in a time of 50:27.
