What a tremendous week it was for Folkestone Running Club runners.  Starting on Tuesday evening, to celebrate the longest day on the year, the Midsummer at the Castle 5k was run around the grounds of Dover Castle.  Darren Crew was the 1st Vet 50 to finish in 21:10, followed by Jody Stoakes the 2nd Female Vet 40 in a time of 24:41.

On Sunday on the other side of the world, Jane Wren completed the 1st Indonesian International Half Marathon on the Island of Bali, in a time on 02:01:07 with an early start of 5:30am in the dark to avoid the 29c. Jane said “It was about 26 degrees in the dark and by the end about 32 degrees.”

Also on  Sunday there The North Downs Run, a 30k trail run across the hills and downs of north-west Kent.  Daniel Radcliffe came 5th in a time of 02:00:52 and Tom Millard came in 7th in a time of 02:02:32.

And finally, on a very busy Sunday there was the Sandwich 10km.  It was a busy run for Folkestone Running Club with 7 runners completing the course.  Sujan Rai finished in 10th place in a time of 37:49 followed by Harry Wall 40:20, James Springett 43:51, Dave Smyth 44:13, Greg Dixon 44:47, Louisa Eede 47:08 (pb), Kate Clipstone 52:19,
