Juniors Showing Us How it’s Done

Kicking off the week’s racing on Wednesday were Oli Collier and Noah Paterson who were representing their school in the English Schools Track and Field Cup. Both won their respective races with Oli competing in the 800m running a PB time of 2:14.2 and Noah taking on 1500m in a time of 4:18.6. Noah was in action again at the weekend at the Kent Schools Track and Field Championships where he again won his 1500m race setting a new PB of 4:13.81.

There were a couple of 10k’s taking place on Sunday morning. At the Tenterden 10k, Paul Hannay came 36th overall in a time of 55:52. In Staplehurst, Karla Larnder was also 36th overall in a time of 46:18 as well as 7th lady and 1st in her age category. 

The Cancer Research Race for Life took place with a few FRC members taking part. Philip Heathfield ran 48:51 in 4th place, Jenny Quinn was second lady in 57:50, Ivana Collier ran 1:01:10 and Maria Felicetti ran 1:07:15.

Throwing in a bit of swimming to mix things up, Kevin Whitby took part in the Rhodes Aquathon (1800m run, 200m swim, 1800m run) where he finished in third place. 

After a brief hiatus last week, Folkestone parkrun was back on the Leas in glorious sunshine. Congratulations to Martin Murray and Neil Trett who both ran new PBs. There were also a number of ties being played out for the parkrun cup.
