On Saturday Neil Trett took part in the Endurance Life Sussex – Trail marathon finishing in a time of 4:54:45 and placing 33 out of a field 124; achieving his first ever UTMB points. He described this course as brutal with an elevation gain of over 4000 feet. A fantastic effort!.
Also on Saturday, Noah Paterson helped Kent U15 Intermediate boys win the silver medal in the English Schools Cross Country Championships at the Hop farm Paddock Wood. An outstanding young talent and one to watch in the coming years.
On Sunday there was a great FRC turnout at the Canterbury Riverside 10k. First home in a time of 39:42 and a massive PB of 2 mins plus first time under 40 mins was Ian Merrick who also finished 8th overall. Next was Daren Wild finishing in 17th in a time of 42:11, a Pb by 20secs. First FRC lady was Karla Larnder who finished 3rd lady and first in age category in a Pb time of 45:23 and 26th overall while Joe Warriner in his first race in FRC colours finished 33rd in 47:15 while Keli Warriner also competing in her first race representing FRC finished in 1:02:06 and 153rd place.
A the Hasting Half Marathon returning club member Jane Wren followed up her superb performance last week at Paddock Wood with another great race finishing a time of 1:50:46 and 6th in her age category on a very challenging course. Alan Randall another FRC returner also completed the course in a commendable time of 1:50:20.
