Marathon Season Continues

The Manchester Marathon, the second of the big autumn marathons took place this weekend. Fresh from doing London last weekend, Henry Axon was back on the start line and managed to finish 7 minutes quicker than last week, completing the course in 2:50:36.

Patrick Hughes was next to finish in a superb PB time of 3:04:00. Rob Hill was next back, his first attempt at a marathon, which he completed in a time of 3:54:363. John O’Hara posted his second-fastest marathon time of 4:17:13 ahead of Diane Parsons in 4:22:26 and Jase O’Callaghan in 4:25:49. Phil Maull ran a new PB time of 4:29:47 ahead of Tony Scott who finished in 4:46:06.

Taking place at the same time was the Manchester Half Marathon which Gary and Marie Brazier were taking part in. Marie finished in a time of 2:06:18 while Gary crossed the line in 2:09:43.

Nikki Goodwin took part in the Islington 1 hour race,  a slightly different style of race where competitors see how many laps of a 1 mile course they can complete in 1 hour. Nikki completed 8 miles and finished 12th lady.

Elsewhere in London was the Royal Parks Half Marathon where FRC had several members in action. Jonathan Drinkwater was first round in a PB time of 1:49:43. Debbie Parmenter finished in 2:03:49 ahead of Linsey Tighy in 2:32:02. Catherine-Anne Curtis also set a new PB of 2:37:51.

There were a couple of other half marathons taking place too. At the Brighton Half Marathon, Beth Jago ran 2:10:42 while at the Silverstone Half Marathon, Ryan Kirby ran 1:47.

There were lots of parkruns on Saturday as usual. Well done to both Ollie and Rob Collier who both set new PBs. Full results:
