New Romney 10k Round Up

Sunday saw the Romney Marsh 10k finally taking place, having been postponed from it’s usual date in July. It used the now familiar wave format meaning that you can’t always tell who you’re racing but it was great to see some very strong performances from FRC runners.

First back for the club was Tom Millard who was in a very strong wave against most of the top finishers. He finished 7th overall in 33:10. Paul Bartlett secured a long overdue PB and also broke the 40 minute barrier for the first time finishing in 37th place in 39:50.

Other FRC runners who took on the rather blustery conditions were Darren Crew 47:12, Chris Woolgar 47:38, Andy Hadlow 47:49, Catherine O’Connor who was only targeting a sub 50 minute time smashed this and finished in 48:20. Gail Turbutt 49:21, Helen Webb 49:32, Richard Dyer 53:25, Malcolm Gibbs 56:16, Deidre Coombs 56:35 and Julie Gibbs who was aiming to beat her time from a training run last week and she did so by over 2 minutes! Helped along the final stretch by Chris Woolgar, she finished in 57:32.
