Great South Run
At the 10 mile Great South Run in Portsmouth Dave Tyler continued his impressive racing form by clocking a PB time of 57:06 and finishing 54th in a field of 20,000 runners. There were also PBs for Ian Merrick, who improved his 10 mile time by six minutes to 1:09:23, and for Jody Stoakes (1:23:24), 17 minutes faster than her previous Great South Run best. Also running was Darren Crew in 1:11:49.
Eastbourne Duathlon
Jenny Quinn finished her first duathlon (run, cycle, run) in 1:43:41.
Parkrun cup
The Parkcup run is a knockout handicap competition where runners score a percentage of their season’s best time.
A Cup
In the first quarter final tie Lisa York scored 99.9 to make the last four ahead of Carolyn Lewis, who scored 96.2.
B Cup
The last round two ties took place on Saturday for a place in the quarter finals. Neil Trett posted a score of 92.9, but it wasn’t enough to beat Helen Francis’s 100.4. In Kevin Newman v Diane Parsons, Kevin scored 95.7 to Diane’s 104.8. Finally Nick Steele posted 98.1 for Jonathan Arana Morton to beat next week.

Challenging conditions at Folkestone on Saturday morning saw Deborah JEFFERY finish first lady in 23:21 and Nick STEELE 18:08 first back for the club and third overall. Walmer and Deal Seafront parkrun
A strong run in wet and windy conditions at the exposed Walmer and Deal Seafront parkrun saw Stephen Male finish first in 17:32 taking almost 30 seconds off his own V50 course record, with Ian McGilloway finishing in second and Dan Voller in third.
