It was another quiet week for racing as only Tony Scott was in action at the Mount Ephraim 10k. Tony was also celebrating his 5th anniversary of taking up running when he embarked on the couch to 5k programme. He completed the 10k, in changeable conditions in 54:48.
Also celebrating its 5th anniversary was Folkestone parkrun and the FRC runners were out in force. Dave Gillett was first overall in a time of 17:41. A few members made the trip down the coast to Hastings. In windy conditions, first back was Nick Steele in a time of 18:52 followed by Stuart Erskine in 19:08. Emma Creasey was next back and first lady overall in a time of 20:05 ahead of Vicky Scott in 24:31 and Catherine O’Connor in 24:39. Paul Bartlett making his return from injury was the final FRC runner back in 25:25 though he went on to come first at crazy golf.
In other parkruns, Torben Jessen took part in Sloughbottom parkrun finishing 5th in 19:27. Debbie Jeffery completed the Brooklands parkrun in 20:59 and Louise Fowler ran Ashford parkrun in 34:21.
We are taking new members for our Junior section in school years 8-12 from Thursday 5th September, meeting at 6.30pm. All sessions take place at Three Hills Sports Park under the guidance of DBS certified coaches. Please come along and try a few training sessions before deciding to join.
