Holiday Season is upon us…

Well up until this point, weekends have been incredibly busy with numerous races on. In Ashford, two club members were due to run the Owler Half Marathon, however had to withdraw due to injuries.

Jenny Quinn did complete a novice duathlon at Betteshanger and obtained a by 32 seconds. Official results are yet to be displayed. 

Folkestone Running Club did see the annual ‘mountain’ run, in which runners set off from the Three Hills Sports centre and run all the way to the top of Summer House Hill, just outside of Etchinghill. The weather was perfect for the just over 8 mile social run. The view from the top of the hill was spectacular.

Saturday morning saw the weekly Parkrun. Some of the club runners were tourists at other Parkruns over the country.

Darren Crew and Jodie Stoakes headed up to the Raphael Parkrun in Romford. Their times were 00:21:06 for Darren and 00:24:34 for Jodie.

Further afield saw Stuart Erskine fly around the Keswick Parkrun in a time of 00:21:06.

In Wales, Pont y Bala Parkrun had junior Callum Howes come in second place overall and a time of 00:18:50.

Caroline Curtis ran at the Cyclopark Parkrun coming in third lady and a time of 00:23:40.

Closer to home, Folkestone Parkrun had club runners attending.

Dan Voller came in first place overall in a speedy time of 00:18:10, closely followed by Nick Steele 00:18:58.

First Lady back was Emma Creasey coming in in 00:20:03. Junior Luke Fowles came in 18 place and obtained a time of 00:22:24.

Folkestone Running Club is always open to welcoming new members. We ask that you can run a 5k distance. Training nights are from 6.30pm onwards on a Tuesday and Thursday evening. Come along to the Three Hills and hope to receive a warm welcome. Training consists of intervals, hill reps, social runs and various other enjoyable activities through the year.
