
Lots going on this week, Friday was the Notts 10m race which saw the seemingly unstoppable Ian McGilloway back in action. Ian took full advantage of the fast, flat course to set a new PB of 57:46 and finished 9th overall, just behind elite GB runner Gemma Steel.
The morning after his 10 mile race, Ian was obviously feeling no ill-effects as he took part in the Forest Rec parkrun, finishing 3rd overall in a course PB time of 17:50.

Earlier in the week down in Dymchurch was the Golden Mile and 5k. In the 5k, Simon Coffey ran a time of 21:19 to finish 9th overall while junior Shannon Quinn ran a time of 35:40.
On Sunday it was the Sandwich 10k, a flat but twisty and partially off road course. First back for the club (despite some navigational issues) was Stuart Erskine who finished 20th overall in a time of 42:05. Ellie Hayes was next to finish in 63rd position in a time of 46:29 just ahead of Kirsty Wilson in 47:00 and 69th place. Vicky Scott just sneaked into the top 100 in 99th place with a time 49:24, Tony Scott ran 49:57 in 104th position while Danielle Inglston finished in 139th in a time of 53:08.
Jenny Quinn took part in the Race for Life in Herne Bay, finishing in 16th position in a time of 24:46 while in Maidstone, the Smith family took part in the Bubble Rush Run in aid of Demelza House.
There was lots of parkrun action on Saturday and there were a number of ties played out in round 1 of the parkrun cup. Karen Puttock sneaked past Tim Warren with a 97.0 vs 96.2 score line to move into round 2. Simon Coffey was on fire as his score of 106.8 knocked out Helen Francis who scored 98.8. Hayley Ballard scored a big 103.3 but was powerless as Angela Warren stormed to victory with a score of 112.2 while Vicky Scott edged past Nick Steele as she scored 100.1 against Nick’s brave 98.1. In the last tie of today Pamela Moore scored a great 103.2 but it was not quite enough as Luke Philips won the tie with a 105.8 score.
In the main parkrun results, Dave Gillett was first back for the club in a time of 18:04 and 2nd position, just ahead of James Whitham in 3rd in a time of 18:11. Nick Steele was next back in 19:00 followed by Emma Creasey who was fastest lady in 19:19. Behind them were Luke Fowles (20:05), Jonathan Arana-Morton (20:06). In the Reculver Junior parkrun, Shannon Quinn came in 22nd in 14:16 while younger sister Kimmy came 24th in 14:42.
