Marathon season is winding down, and club competition comes to the fore. In the meantime, there’s no shortage of road races and personal causes to celebrate.
Rye Summer Classic Series – 6 June
FRAC friends Jane Wren and Sonia Markwell took on the Rye Summer Series 5k on Friday night. Jane conquered as 1st lady in 25:27, with Sonia driving the point home as 2nd lady, 1st in category in 26:05. Your laurels are well earned, ladies!
The Rye 10k also drew several FRAC legends. Diane Parsons was 3rd in her category, and Pam and Clive Allon 2nd in both of theirs. Go, Team!
New member Beth Goodchild (aka ‘Henry’s Mum’!) ran the Race for Life 10k in Folkestone in a time of 1.10.46, a 10k PB! ‘Conditions were pretty good – I’d rather have wind than heat any day, but running up the Zigzag path at around 8k was just not going to happen!’ Strong effort any way you split it, Beth!

parkrun
Folkestone parkrun took a break this week while local events took place. FRAC runners love a chance to get out and about so they made the most of it.
