On Saturday Gary and Marie Brazier competed in their first super sprint triathlon at the All Nations Triathlon held at Dorney lake in Windsor. It consisted of a 400m swim, 20k bike ride, followed by a 5K run. Gary finished in a time of 1.30.21, he would have been quicker but changed into his tri suit after the swim, costing him valuable time. Marie finished in 1.28.08. Marie said “We both loved it, the setting was beautiful and the whole race was really well organised.”

On Sunday, 9 runners from the club made the most of the glorious weather and ran the Ashford and District 10k. Usually run in February, the new date provided the runners with beautiful, sunny weather to run the course which is a challenging route around the lanes of Ashford and Eastwell and they achieved some fantastic results. Not deterred by the hot weather, Kirsty Wilson ran a PB time of 44:13 and won the female race. Krzysztof Klidzia, 39:05, was first back for the club and the first in his age category, closely followed by Ian Merrick 39:31 (a 2 minute 15 second course PB), Thierry Bal 40:25, James Barney 40:30, Colin Burfoot 46:54 (course PB), Simon Coffey 49:44, Karen Burfoot 50:12 (course PB), William Woledge 52:06

In Maidstone Sarah Nunn ran the Maidstone 10 Mile Riverside Run in a time of 1:32:37, winning her age category and receiving her first every trophy.
