Friday saw the Annual Folkestone 10 race return. It was a stunning day of weather, if a little on the warm side. First home for FRC was Henry Axon who, although disappointed with his time, was running 5 days after the Brighton Marathon. He achieved a time of 1:02:20 finishing 25th out of a field of 557. Closely behind him in 27th was Krzysztof Klidzia in 1:02:38. Rob Hill was the third men’s team member back and finished in 1:07:51 in 61st place. In the ladies race, Emily Chambers brought the team home finishing in time of 1:10:52 in 88th with Deborah Jeffery 1:13:34 in 114th and Vicky Scott coming in 6 secs later in 1:13:40 finishing in 117th place.
The wild card entries were Jonathan Drinkwater who finished in 1:26:32 in 248th place and Diane Parsons running off the back of the Manchester Marathon two weeks ago in 1:28:12 in 270th place. Fantastic racing by everyone – well done!
Missing from last week’s round up was new member Paul Constable who took part in the Great Welsh Marathon last weekend and stormed to a fantastic time of 3:10:32.
Parkrun results this week are as follows with PB’s for Ian Merrick and Oscar Collier and a course PB at Pegwell Bay for Karla Larnder. Well done everyone.
