It was a massive weekend for Tom Millard as he ran a superb 2:28:08 at the Wrexham elite marathon held in Chester. With a high quality field, a fast and flat looped course and ideal conditions, Tom was able to capitalise and despite a minor scare with cramp in the closing stages, held on to run a time that ranks him 4th in the UK for his age group. Tom finished 33rd overall, a fantastic achievement in a race where the leaders in both the men’s and women’s races ran Olympic qualifying times.

Closer to home, Jenny Quinn and Maria Chapman took part in the Kent Duathlon. Maria came 74th in a time of 1:33:34 over the 5k run, 20k cycle and final 2.5k run. Jenny finished in a similar time although the official result is still to be confirmed.
