The weekend has been a busy one, mainly made up of half and full marathon achievements. Also, there has been some park run person bests (PBs) for club runners.
Looking only up the road in Ashford, starting out from the Julie Rose stadium, the infamous Brett Owler Marathon and Half Marathon saw some of the club runners taking part. Firstly, Dave Tyler, stormed ahead of the rest of the field (looking very strong mid way through the race), came in first man in an amazing time of 02:55:30. Second in for the club was Ian Merrick achieving another fabulous PB of 03:56:25. Reports from the runners were that it was a ‘mudfest’!
Other club runners who took part completed the half marathon. First back was Caroline Curtis, in a time of 01:51:23 obtaining the V50 1st lady back. Next over the line was Vicky Green, running with Ian McGilloway, in a time of 01:58:26, Tony Scott at 02:00:31 and then Helen Francis 02:37:37.
Over in Sunny Spain, San Sebastien, Jonathan Arana-Morton ran a sub three hour marathon in 02:59:01, securing himself London marathon entry for the next few years.
Further afield in the Silverstone Half Marathon, husband and wife Liam and Kayleigh Cumber obtained joint PBs; Liam got round the course in 01:32:36 and Kayleigh in 02:48:47.
