Canterbury Half and the Juniors have been in action!

The Canterbury Half marathon took place on Bank Holiday Monday with three Folkestone runners taking on the challenging course. First back was Greg Dixon in a time of 1:41:56 and in 54th position overall. John O’Hara was next back in 2:04:24 followed by Louise Fowler in 2:34:10.

The Juniors were out in force this weekend as they held their Annual Club Champs at Invicta East Kent Athletics Club in Canterbury.  The children were allowed to compete in 3 events on both days (Thursday evening and Sunday) excluding relays spread across track and field.  There were lots of debuts, pbs and fun was had by all.

On Sunday, Abigail Smith took part in the Kent U13 Pentathlon (70m hurdles, high jump, shot, long jump & 800m) finishing joint 10th, despite being a year younger than most of the other competitors.

At the parkrun on Saturday, Ollie Collier ran another PB (his third since Parkrun returned) edging closer to the sub-20 minute barrier.
